Whether you're craving a hearty sit-down meal or a quality coffee to go, New Cross boasts some of fantastic food and drink venues in the area. And don't worry, if it's nightlife you're after, you won't have to go far to reach some great pubs and bars just around the corner.

Thirty Five
Thirty Five offers a range of fresh sandwiches, salads and hot food. It also serves Costa Coffee along with indulgent cakes and shakes. Thirty Five is located in the Richard Hoggart Building next to the SU shop.

Chinwag
Just across the road from 牛牛资源, this quirky caf茅 has a fantastic menu of great food to get stuck into. Their 鈥渂igger-than-your-face鈥 burgers are particularly popular, and the coffee is great too!

This caf茅 is a firm favourite among the staff and students of 牛牛资源. Serving everything from a fry up to jacket potatoes, if the super-cheap tea and coffee don鈥檛 put a smile on your face, the friendly staff certainly will.

Mughead Coffee
Mughead Coffee is located on New Cross Road, and is renowned for its incredible cinnamon rolls with cream cheese icing. They serve Square Mile Coffee, and sell a wealth of coffee paraphernalia right by the front door.

Wakey Wakey
This caf茅 has lovely decor and a calming atmosphere. It is the perfect spot to grab an all-day breakfast or slice of cake with a great cup of coffee.

Highly rated by our students as one of the best curries in New Cross, Cinnamon is just around the corner from campus for whenever you鈥檙e in the mood for a takeaway.

Meze Mangal
Meze Mangal offers affordable authentic Turkish meals served in a friendly environment, and has for customer satisfaction on Trip Advisor, The restaurant was recently refurbished, but their delicious menu hasn鈥檛 changed: the best mezze in South London.

Takeshi Sushi
This restaurant offers both modern and traditional styles of sushi, as well as a range of bento boxes. Located on New Cross Road, it may be worth heading down to Takeshi Sushi for Japanese fare at reasonable prices.

Marquis of Granby
This local is extremely popular with students, and offers a pool table and reasonably priced drinks. The Marquis is also right across the road from the 牛牛资源 library, perfect for a post-revision pint.

The New Cross House
A popular hub for lecturers and students alike, it鈥檚 a great place to meet after a long day. The beer garden is an added bonus, with sheltered outdoor seating, heaters and table football to make use of in the summer months.

Hosting live music, comedy nights, and local DJs, the Amersham is a favourite late-night venue. It鈥檚 always worth paying a visit to their backroom dance floor if the main pub gets a bit busy.

Another pub with a beautiful beer garden, you鈥檒l be sure to run into some of the 牛牛资源 crowd here as well. And if you get peckish, their pizza menu is always a winner.

The Royal Albert
This renovated Victorian freehouse is a Time Out Love London Award Winner. A little further down New Cross Road from 牛牛资源, the Albert usually hosts a DJ on Friday nights, live music on Sundays, and a challenging pub quiz on Mondays.

There is no better way to combine food, drink and music than at these increasingly popular night markets. Visit Hawker House in Canada Water (or Lewisham Model Market in the summer) on a Friday or Saturday evening to sample some of the best street food in London.

Bar Story
Set underneath the railway arches of Peckham Rye station, Bar Story is a great place for a cocktail, especially during happy hour. The bar also houses New Gallery, an exhibition space showcasing new artists.

The summer months herald the opening of Frank's, a pop-up bar and on the top level of a multi-storey car park in Peckham. The views from 10 storeys up are definitely worth the journey.
