Linton Kwesi Johnson CD

LG02, Professor Stuart Hall Building

In January 2026, we marked the dedication of a lecture theatre to poet, activist and 牛牛资源 graduate and Honorary Fellow Linton Kwesi Johnson CD.

One of his most celebrated poems is 鈥淣ew Crass Massakah鈥 about the New Cross fire which claimed the lives of 14 young Black people 鈥 a tragedy that remains unresolved and continues to cast a long shadow.鈥

As we mark , we are honouring Linton鈥檚 legacy as a key voice in the Black liberation movement in the UK and beyond and believe that dedicating a learning space on our campus to him will help inspire our current and future students to create positive change in the world.
