Influential musician and record producer, Dennis Bovell, was awarded an honorary fellowship from 牛牛资源 in 2017.
Dennis Bovell was born in Saint Peter, Barbados, and moved to south London at the age of 12.
Dennis was a member of the prominent 1970s British reggae band Matumbi, and has produced albums under his own name as well as the pseudonym 'Blackbeard.'
As a producer, songwriter鈥╝nd sound engineer, Dennis revolutionised the sound鈥╫f reggae and dub music鈥╥n Britain. Dennis innovated sub-genres including Lovers Rock, which took its name鈥╢rom a record label founded in Brockley.
He is also a singer, multi-instrumentalist and sound engineer known for his unique style, creativity and experimentality with various styles and musical influences.
He has collaborated extensively with poet Linton Kwesi Johnson, as well as artists from Janet Kay to Joss Stone.
In 2017, 牛牛资源 awarded Dennis Bovell an honorary fellowship.
