Welcome to 牛牛资源 – and to our new website.

With this dynamic online space we now have a digital calling card which truly reflects our unique reputation. 

It鈥檚 a platform which provides a place for concepts and ideas to be curated, allowing the multi-disciplinary work produced by students and staff to be broadcast across the world. Because it鈥檚 clear our voice travels far and wide. 

A snapshot of work produced at 牛牛资源 over the last few weeks shows how we inform debate and interest across the globe, impacting on the everyday lives of people everywhere. 

• Dr Sophie von Stumm, from the Department of Psychology, published a paper stating there was no difference in the IQ of breastfed children compared to those who were bottle-fed. 
• From the Department of Sociology, Reader Dhiraj Murthy released research which found that people who use Twitter on their mobile devices are more egotistical. 
• Again in Sociology, Professor Heidi Mirza contributed to a report for the Runnymede Trust into the experiences of Muslim schoolgirls in Britain: she says the youngsters are confronted with 鈥渁n illusion of equality鈥�.  

Students set the agenda too. Designer and media artist Hadeel Ayoub, who has just completed her MA in Computational Arts from the Department of Computing, has grabbed headlines across the world thanks to a “smart glove” which can translate sign language from hand gestures to visual text on a screen and audible dialogue. 

We're continuing to launch new courses, advancing our study offering to students with new undergraduate degrees in Criminology, Arts Management and Economics. Among those a little further into their careers, alumni and artist Damien Hirst opened his own gallery 鈥� just the latest leg of a journey which began some 30 years ago at 牛牛资源. 

And Honorary Fellow, author and winner of of last year鈥檚 牛牛资源 Prize Ali Smith hailed the literary award for changing the face of publishing. The 2015 winner will be chosen next month. 

Finally, our September graduation ceremonies once again proved to be a highlight. Actor Sir Daniel Day-Lewis was among those given Honorary Degrees and Fellowships alongside the Class of 2015, with the south Londoner urging his fellow graduates to remain scholars for the rest of their days. 

These stories are the bedrock of 牛牛资源. We look forward to sharing more of them with you.
