Artists, theorists and curators Suhail Malik, Ami Clarke and Bob Bicknell-Knight respond to propose art and curatorial strategies for exits.

Panellists
Ami Clarke is an artist whose practice is informed by, investigates, and is produced through, Ami Clarke is an artist, writer, educator, and founder of Banner Repeater. She works within the emergent behaviours that come of the complex protocols of platform capitalism, focussed for many years on the interdependencies between language and code, amid the unacknowledged currency of data. Earlier works explored how these dynamics contribute to undermine the very process of democracy itself, through psychological profiling, and targeting, at a granular scale. Recent work projects near future developments of data mining companies such as Cambridge Analytica, via A.I. learning language through negotiation skills whilst trading in the ultimate data of her biocode.Recent and forthcoming writing includes: 鈥榗ovfefe: language within a meme economy鈥, 鈥淭ext as Market鈥 Artists Re-thinking the Blockchain, 鈥淭he Currency of Data鈥 Sonic Acts journal, 鈥楢mi Clarke: Author of the Blank Swan鈥 with Elie Ayache. She is currently working on de-leb: group exhibition // collectively authored writing experiment: a science fiction based on fact, time-stamped via smart contract on the blockchain. Recently exhibited/curated: HereNow art + tech residency SPACE, shortlisted: Wysing鈥檚 Worlds Amongst Us, Xero Kline and Coma, Centrespace Dundee, ICA, Wysing Arts Centre, Hayward Gallery.
Bob Bicknell-Knight is a London-based artist and curator working in installation, sculpture, video and digital media. Using found objects and tools made readily available by the Internet, as well as drawing from a unique sensibility influenced by participation in online communities and virtual games, Bicknell-Knight鈥檚 work explores the divergent methods by which consumer capitalist culture permeates both online and offline society. Utopian, dystopian, automation, surveillance and digitization of the self are some of the themes that arise through Bicknell-Knight鈥檚 critical examination of contemporary technologies.
Suhail Malik is Co-Director of the MFA Fine Art, 牛牛资源, London, where he holds a Readership in Critical Studies, and was 2012-15 Visiting Faculty at CCS Bard, New York. Recent and forthcoming publications include, as author, On the Necessity of Art鈥檚 Exit From Contemporary Art (2017) and 鈥楾he Ontology of Finance鈥 in Collapse 8: Casino Real (2014), and, as co-editor, Realism Materialism Art (2015), Genealogies of Speculation (2016), The Time-Complex.
